WORK EXPERIENCE
- Winter 2012 to Spring 2012 - Chicago, IL
- This position was comparable to a junior designer position. I worked on solo projects as well as collaborations with my coworkers, all the while learning to operate in a fast-paced environment.
- Summer 2011 to Winter 2012 - Starkville, MS
- I designed promotional material for the College of Architecture, Art + Design, including post cards, posters, newsletters, and brochures. I was also responsible for upkeep and maintenance of the college’s website.
- Fall 2010 to Spring 2011 - Starkville, MS
- My responsibilities included producing logos, designing brochures, and helping in the preparation of community report presentations.
- Spring 2010 to Spring 2011 - Starkville, MS
- As a lab monitor, I was required to have an extensive knowledge of Adobe softwares, particularly Photoshop and Illustrator. I helped fellow students resolve both design and software related issues.
- Spring 2010 - Starkville, MS
- In this class, we were given the great opportunity to work with real clients. In this case, our client was the City of Quitman, MS. As a team, my roommate David Whitley and I created a logo, brochure, and website for the city. Our logo was chosen over those of our classmates by the client.
- Spring 2009 - Ridgeland, MS
- During this internship I gained significant experience in the advertising industry. My responsibilities included helping with the creative process, uploading files to be shown to clients, and sending projects to be printed.
FREELANCE
- Summer 2010 - Arkadelphia, AR
- For this project I created a t-shirt design for the Arlie Moore Alumni Association’s annual reunion on Lake DeGray, AR. The design for the shirt was also used on huggies for the event.
- Summer 2010 - Starkville, MS
- I worked as a team with fellow designer and classmate Tim Cook to produce a poster displaying handicap friendly campuses. This project not only required us to resolve a large amount of text, but also to make the best of low-resolution images.
- Fall 2009 - Flowood, MS
- For this project I was required to come up with a logo for Saint Mark’s United Methodist Church. The logo is now used in their brochures and on their website, as well as on several billboards near the church.
